myList is a simple bookmarking tool. Its advantage over your regular web-browser bookmarks is that it is web-based, and the bookmarks are stored remotely. You can log into myList and access your bookmarks wherever you are, as long as you have Web access.

Now, there are a few different web-based bookmark tools out there. Mostly they hold your links in a huge window with folder-trees and a lot of extra stuff. myList is designed to have a small footprint on your desktop, and look like an application you are running on your computer. myList is not a community; it solves the simple problem of keeping your favorite links on hand no matter where you are.

FAQ

Is myList free? What are the requirements?

myList is completely free to use. All you need is a modern web browser and an Internet connection. There is nothing to install; use it in Windows, MacOS, Linux, Solaris, BeOS, or whatever other operating system you surf the web with!

Just bookmarks? What else does it do?

myList can incorporate any kind of HTML you want. You can put useful searches, reports, stock tickers, and any other dynamic information available on the Web in myList. Widgets make this even more powerful. You can share your myList objects with friends who use myList. myList also features a built in Google search.

Manage contacts. Build a code-snippet library. Keep dynamic weather reports and headline updates right at your fingertips, without installing a thing on all of the computers you use. These and more are the things you can do with myList in addition to bookmarks.

In future, myList will include the following:

  • RSS feeds
  • Mini-message chat with other users
  • Searching of your own or friends' myLists
  • Drag and drop functionality
  • Skins

What about all the bookmarks I have built up in IE/Netscape/FireFox/Safari?

You can import all of your old bookmarks/favorites directly into myList--no laborious re-entry of all of your favorite sites!

What browsers does myList support?

Presently myList is designed for Firefox 1.0 and higher, and other standards-compliant browsers. It works in IE as well, but I won't be expressly supporting it. (However, it ought to; Javascript aside, I endeavor to use standard HTML.)
myList works best if you turn on Javascript ability to resize windows and remove the status bar. You will have to enable popups for this site for myList to open properly. Cookies must be enabled.

To whom can I give feedback?

To me. donnst@yahoo.com

This point is actually fairly important. I would love to hear your ideas on how to improve myList. Are there any custom widgets you would like to see? Is there an important piece of functionality missing? Let me know.

How do I use this thing, anyway?
